Baby I'm the Lucky One"

Oh how lucky I am! I have a husband who people can't believe exists when I tell them all of the roles he takes on in our family, a son who is absolutely amazing, kind-hearted, happy and smart and a daughter who brightens every one's day with her big smiles. This was a big transition month for us: I went back to work, the kids stayed home with daddy for 2 weeks and then transitioned to daycare. Ryan and Kate did beautifully! Ryan has enjoyed being back with his friends; he even prays for all his friends and Dona at night after I am done praying with him. Going to bed is one of my favorite special times with Ryan. After we read 3 books, choose his two friends to sleep with, turn on his turtle and pray ('Hands in the air, down in prayer"), I give him a kiss goodnight and say "Wherever you are, my love will find you." Ryan now responds after I say "Wherever you are..", he will say "Momma will find me."

Ry has grown so much this month. He loves to read and has begun reading books to us- the actual words (he has an incredible memory). In addition to reading the words, he will match pictures and characters from previous pages or cover of the book. He also loves letters. He has starting reading letters where ever we go. Grandma's bathroom: "K-O-H-L-E-R, sink!" His room: "H-U-G-G-I-E-S, wipes!". His two favorite activities are watching Jake and the Pirates and putting together jigsaw puzzles. He amazed us this month by putting together a brand new 24 piece jigsaw puzzle on his own, with no help from us! Our favorite moment came when he showed us that he is internalizing and comprehending what we are saying. Joe said that he and Ryan and Kate were planning a surprise for me. I said "Oh, is it a new haircut?" and Ryan responded "No. Flowers Momma!". It turns out Joe told Ryan a couple days earlier that they planned to surprise me at school with flowers and lunch.

Kate is just as sweet as can be. Whenever people ask about her, they always say "You're so lucky" or, if they have a baby, "I don't want to hear it." :) She is such an easy baby. We put her down in her crib with her eyes open, she lays there and falls asleep. She woke up crying- I turned her glowing seahorse on and she looked at it, stopped crying, closed her eyes and fell asleep. She is just happy, happy, happy. She now giggles, though reluctantly. She will wriggle and grunt at you, trying not to laugh. She doesn't like to be tickled just like her Momma. She adores Ryan. She will follow him with her eyes and listen to him when he sings "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star".

I am blessed with a beautiful family who love and accept me for who I am. God is good!

I love you more than I have ever found a way to say to you
And I know that I am
I am, I amthe luckiest
